Makoko, Lagos. 14 visits. 4,200 Bibles.
Makoko is a stilt-built fishing community on the Lagos lagoon, home to roughly 100,000 people and accessible only by canoe. It is where BFAM started — twelve Bibles in a backpack, a Saturday afternoon in 2014.
We have returned fourteen times since. Through floods, lockdowns, and three changes of local leadership. Every visit is documented, every Bible logged, and every face you see in these photos has a name and a story we keep on file.
